Storms

 ACTS IN 90 DAYS

A reading for Thursday, October 1, 2020: Acts 27:13-38.

"So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will be exactly as I have been told."

A great storm threatened the journey of Paul and the others. At one point, all hope was lost that the ship would be saved and any would survive. But Paul never wavered in his devotion to the cause of Christ. He continued to trust and believe that God's will be done, and was able to lead others to do that same. After giving thanks to God and breaking bread, they were encouraged.

We will all face storms in our lives. There will be moments when we aren't able to see how we might be saved. It's in these moments, that the Spirit of God is the closest to us. We need only keep our faith in hope that God's mission in the world and in our lives will be fulfilled. Give thanks to God. Break bread in remembrance of Jesus Christ and be encouraged. Thanks be to God.
