Hungry?

A reading for Monday, September 14, 2020: Acts 23:12-22.

"They have bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink until they kill him."

The vow is to go hungry until they have killed Paul. Remember, these are religious men who are already under vows not to murder according to the vow of Moses.

Yet the hate they share for Paul is so complete, they are willing to go hungry to accomplish the ends they have decided for themselves.

Notice how far sin can go? But God will go further to ensure Paul's mission is preserved. Thanks be to God.
