Who's On God's Seeker List?

A reading for Thursday, June 4, 2020: Acts 8:26-40.

"Then an angel of the Lord said to Philip, 'Get up and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.”

The Spirit of God was instigating ministry for these earliest apostles. Notice that it was very often not what they expected...

An Ethiopian Eunuch would not have been on the "seeker" list from the evangelism team. No mailing would have arrived at his house, and he would not have sent his children to VBS (of course I know eunuch's didn't have children).

And yet, the Spirit of God had in mind that this man and then the entire court of Candace would hear the message of the gospel. The Spirit of God wanted him baptized. God had other plans than were expected and the apostles were included in what God was doing.

What about us? Isn't it exciting, and maybe a little scary sometimes, not to know exactly what is going to happen next? The best part is that if God is doing it, we just get to be included. Thanks be to God!
