Who Is Worthy of Grace?

ACTS IN 90 DAYS

A reading for Friday, June 26, 2020: Acts 11:1-18.

"And they praised God, saying, “Then God has given even to the Gentiles the repentance that leads to life."

There's always been a question about who is worthy to receive the grace and love of God. From the earliest days of faith, the people of God have always wanted to evaluate others and measure them against their own faithfulness.

In early Judea, the Jews were not happy that Gentiles were being included in the message of Christ. Peter testified about his vision and how God's plans were not their plans. In the end, the people praised God since it was obvious that a great work was being done.

We still do the same today. We are not as abundant with our grace giving as God is, and we might be surprised by what God is doing right now to expand the Kingdom with others we might not think worthy.

It's good news that God is always more generous with us and with others than we are. Thanks be to God.
