Crumbs...
ACTS IN 90 DAYS
A reading for Wednesday, June 10, 2020: Acts 9:23-25.
"After some time had passed, the Jews plotted to kill him..."
The actor Matthew McConaughey warns against leaving "crumbs" behind. According to him, crumbs are those things that we have done that leave a trail and have us looking over our shoulder. We worry that someone will find our crumbs and we will be exposed for that bad thing we did that we shouldn't have. So, says McConaughey, don't leave any crumbs. Don't do things that you shouldn't and then you won't have to worry about your crumbs. That's the way to peace.
Today, Saul's crumbs come back to haunt him. Those that were his allies and friends in persecuting the Christians come calling. Saul is able to escape with the help of his new friends, the disciples of Jesus.
Take note. Live today without regrets so that tomorrow will be "crumb-free." Thanks be to God!
