We Live Here
A reading for Tuesday, April 21, 2020: John 14:18-31.
Jesus said, "Because I live, you will also live." That's the simple and profound message of the gospel.
There are other things that are important. Doing as God has commanded. Loving others as God has loved us. Giving peace and receiving peace. These are central tenets of our gospel as well.
But at the heart of it all is life. Life now, in the present moment and life forever into eternity. Because Jesus lives, we live! The simple and profound message of the gospel is life. We live!
If someone were to ask you today, as you walk along in your neighborhood... "Why are you a Christian? Why do you trust in Jesus?" I wonder how you might answer in light of what John has offered today?
