Love Still Can
A reading for Thursday, April 23, 2020: John 15:12-27.
Jesus said, "No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends."
Look around today and give thanks for all those that sacrifice personal safety and worry to keep us healthy and fed, safe and functioning. There are the obvious doctors and nurses, and first responders who work tirelessly, long hours with only the occasional notice from the rest of us. But there are also those that work in the grocery store, pharmacy, gas station and hardware store. How about those that work for government at all levels that shoulder the burden of community well-being and public safety. The mail carriers work. The public utility workers keep the streets clean, the lights on, and clean water coming from the tap. I bet you could make your own list...
It's times like we are living through that we have the choice to be annoyed and frustrated by all we can't do or we can be grateful for all that we still can giving thanks to those that make it happen with their sacrifice.
Thank you Lord for those that love me and my family with selfless acts of sacrifice. In them, we see you!
