What About Others?

A reading for Wednesday, April 26, 2017: Acts 1:11.

"This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven."

The writer of Acts is also the writer of Luke, so in Luke we read that Jesus ascended into heaven as he was blessing the gathered disciples (yesterday's blog). So... we should expect that Jesus will return to us in the same way. He will return, blessing all those that have followed him, those that gather in his name.

What about others? What about the world?

This message is not meant to be exclusive or insider versus outsider. It is simply the hope we share as believers in Christ Jesus. Someday, Jesus will return to us blessing all those that love him. Our job now is to spread the good news and to inspire others to love Jesus as we do. So that when Jesus returns, the crowd that gathers includes all.

"They said, 'Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven?" There's good news to share with the world. Let's get to work!
