Stay Faithful My Friends
A reading for Tuesday, March 28, 2017: Luke 16:14-18.
"...and they ridiculed him." It's just four words, and they are easy to miss. The reaction of the Pharisees to Jesus teaching is that they ridiculed him.
It's an ancient tactic but one that still has power even today. When someone of faith reveals their commitments, sometimes the authorities and leaders still ridicule them. The hope is to silence them, just as the Pharisees were hoping to silence Jesus and his teaching about their money.
Stay faithful my friends. "The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes." (Psalm 118:22-23)
