Kingdom Like
A reading for Tuesday, March 14, 2017: Luke 13:18-30.
The Kingdom of God is beyond our expectations. Like the smallest seed that grows into the largest bush. Like yeast that leavens an enormous amount of flour. The Kingdom of God has power to change the world.
The Kingdom of God does not belong to any small group of people. Some think they are in and others are out, but Jesus says all should take seriously their relationship with God. We might be surprised at who is included in the Kingdom. People from all over the world, and not any one nation will inherit the Kingdom.
These are the ways, paraphrased of course, that Jesus talked about the Kingdom. If I were to add something (not that anything needs be added) I would say that the Kingdom of God is our greatest blessing and highest goal. The Kingdom can change lives and alter history. Both the power and the wide range of the promises of the Kingdom are beyond our expectations.
We might pray today "Your Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
