We Are Marching!

A reading for Monday, January 9, 2017: Isaiah 62:10-12.

The good news of God is marching... It's not marching light into darkness because the darkness is already defeated. The good news is marching telling all people of the victory of our God. We are saved! The enemy is defeated! We are a holy people, "The Redeemed of the Lord!"

Our place is under the banner, the ensign cited by the prophet Isaiah. We take part in the holy procession, sharing our love and proclaiming our allegiance to the King who has brought us the victory. So that all others will know of the good news, on the march telling all people of the victory of our God.

Look to the horizon. A new city, a life in need, a people suffering, a nation lost and clamoring for peace. That is our destination... We are marching!

Siyahamb' ekukhanyeni kwenkhos'
Siyahamb' ekukhanyeni kwenkhos'
Siyahamb' ekukhanyeni kwenkhos'
Siyahamb' ekukhanyeni kwenkhos'
Siyahamba hamba Siyahamba Oh Oh
Siyahamb' ekukhanyeni kwenkhos'
Siyahamba hamba Siyahamba Oh Oh
Siyahamb' ekukhanyeni kwenkhos'

Siyahamba (watch this video) is a protest song from South Africa and was sung by those protesting against apartheid. It can still be sung as a call for freedom, in solidarity with those who are oppressed, or simply as a commitment to living in the light, love and power of God. Here are the words in english:

We are marching in the light of God
We are marching in the light of God
We are marching in the light of God
We are marching in the light of God
We are marching marching
We are marching Oh Oh
We are marching in the light of God
We are marching marching
We are marching Oh Oh

We are marching in the light of God
