First Things First
A reading for Wednesday, January 4, 2017: Exodus 13:1-2.
First things first... God said to Moses, "Whatever is the first is mine."
In these first few days of 2017, first consider giving away to God what belongs to God. Your heart. Your family. Your money. Your time. Your energy. Your work. Your love. Your devotion. Whatever you consider of first importance in your life. Give it to God... first.
Is there anybody you trust with those things more? Can you not imagine God doing more with those things than we can alone?
Perhaps it seems simplistic and ritualized to go through such motions.
However, as any builder knows setting things to plumb first is the only way to make everything else strong and true. So first things first. Give it to God!
