Grace and Love!
A reading for Tuesday, December 20, 2016: 1 Samuel 2:1-10.
Perhaps the reason we see the poor lifted up and the needy placed in seats of honor so often in ancient scripture is because such actions seem impossible.
Even today, in a system like ours that rewards labor and productivity with wealth, we can't imagine how the tables might be turned and all people could be seen as worthy of God's grace and love. Enemies of God are defeated and foreign armies are destroyed. The hungry are given food and the barren children. When God decides to grant grace and love to creation, the impossible happens right before our very eyes.
Can you imagine how everything can change in an instant? Can your imagination hold the wonder and mystery of Christmas? Are you ready for grace and love?
It's almost here!
