One Question...

A reading for Thursday, November 10, 2016: Exodus 33:7-23.

“If your presence will not go, do not carry us up from here. For how shall it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people, unless you go with us?" Moses begged God to remain with God's people, so that others would know of their relationship. Moses also begged God to let the people know God's ways, so they could demonstrate those ways to others. In this way, the presence of the Lord was not only with them but in the world too.

Today as you come and go, as you interact with others at school and at work, as you post on social media, or even participate in expressing your opinion in other ways, I just have one question... Can others see the presence of the Lord in our actions? Will they recognize God's ways in us?

We live in an age when what one says they believe seems to be more important than the way they live what they believe. Moses would not understand. Moses yearned for God's face. "In this way, we shall be distinct, I and your people, from every people on the face of the earth."

Be the people God needs us to be today. So that the presence of the Lord be not only with us, but in the world too!
