Connecting Power
A reading for Friday, November 18, 2016: Jeremiah 1:4-10.
God reminds Jeremiah that the power of a prophet is not in the prophet, but in the prophecy. God would provide Jeremiah everything he would need "over nations and over kingdoms, to pluck up and to pull down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant."
As Christians we too have power, but our power is also not in ourselves to will a new future or to transform our world on our own. Our power too is in connecting to what God is already doing in us, in our neighborhoods and in our world.
God's connecting power is far more than anything we can come up with...
