Stranger Things?
A reading for Tuesday, September 20, 2016: Genesis 18:1-15.
The promise hidden in the welcoming of and hospitality to a stranger is that we never know if the presence of God dwells in the heart and the voice of that stranger.
Abraham went all out to welcome those that were apparently simply passing by his tent. He heard the blessings of God from them! ... and Sara laughed. They would have a child, after all these years.
I wonder if the blessings of God might be discovered in the passing of strangers in your life today. We will never know if our head is down and we are so preoccupied with our own wealth, power and control that we cannot reach out with a word of welcome and hospitality.
