By Any Means Necessary!
A reading for Friday, September 23, 2016: Genesis 27:1-17, 30-38.
What would our lives and the world look like today if each of us pursued the blessings of God as Jacob, the liar and the cheat, pursued the blessings of his father?
What if we did good with the same engagement? What if we were just as compelled as Jacob and Rebekah, pursuing God by any means necessary?
The story is about deceit and treachery, and in the end such wins the day. The good news for us is that in the end of our story God wins. Goodness and righteousness win.
Give us your blessings O God, for peace and justice, humility and walking with you each day!
