Thankful for Imitators

A reading for Monday, April 18, 2016: 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10.

From the very beginning, our faith has passed from one generation to the next by imitation... One person sees the faith of another and imitates it with the actions and the convictions that are behind those actions. This is what the Apostle Paul is thanking God for in our lesson today.

Sometimes we think faith is a only a commitment to a set of beliefs based on careful contemplation and intellectual discernment.

It's better when faith is a way of life handed down and lived from one person to another.
