How To Grow Your Church...

A reading for Monday, April 11, 2016: Acts 2:43-47.

The most important part of this image of the early church is knowing that it was God who "day by day (the Lord) added to their number those who were being saved."

It was not a new evangelism strategy. It was not a new building or a better location. It was not a young pastor with small children. It was not an older, wiser pastor with more experience. It was not a new name, leaving behind the old denominational moniker. It was not a return to the foundations that made the church great in the first place. It was not the right theological stance on a divisive issue. It was not better marketing or a new sign... none of these things are cited as the reason for the growth experienced in the early church.

Instead, it was one thing. "Day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved." Period.
