Do we give because we seek praise from others for our generosity?
Do we give because we desire to see joy in the one receiving the gift?
Do we give in order to be praised by God?
Do we give as a response to God, for all the many blessings we enjoy in life?
There are many reasons to give and each one reveals something about the heart of the giver. Perhaps there are even good reasons for each of the giving above, but knowing why we are giving is one way to discover the true joy in what we give.
