We Will Celebrate

A reading for Tuesday, March 22, 2016: Psalm 118:19-26.

We're still celebrating Sunday. Sunday, the day when the gates were swung wide with a mighty groan of worn iron hinges. Sunday, the day the Lord rode in majesty like a favored king deserves. Sunday, the day Jesus took his place as the King of all Creation, and the Savior of All.  We're still celebrating on Tuesday the events of Palm Sunday, when the Lord Jesus Christ entered Jerusalem and we shouted "Hosanna!" meaning "Save Us!"

And we know that Jesus will save us... but our celebrating won't last. The hard part of Holy Week is to truly allow ourselves to feel the full breadth and scope of emotions. From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows.  It's all coming. We celebrate. We are in shock. We are angry. We mourn. We despair. We will celebrate again...

We can journey in fullness with Jesus this week, knowing all the while that Jesus journeys with us now every day of our lives through all the same!
