Get Dressed
A reading for Monday, March 14, 2016: Ephesians 6:10-17.
Now that we're awake, it's time to get dressed for the day:
Belt of Truth... check!
Breastplate of Righteousness... right!
Shoes ready to proclaim the righteousness of peace... laced up and ready!
Shield of faith... Got it!
Helmet of salvation... Strapped on!
Sword of the Spirit... Swoosh! Swoosh!
Now that we're fully dressed and ready to face the day, spend a moment in front of the mirror. Look at how God has provided everything we need. Indeed we fear no evil for God has equipped us for the journey. As you stare into the mirror, say Isaiah 52:7 out loud: “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the messenger who announces peace, who brings good news, who announces salvation...”
Grab your keys, your briefcase, or your school backpack... We are ready. We are prepared. Bring on the day.
And thank you God!
