Restored!
A reading for Tuesday, December 15, 2015: Nehemiah 1 & 2.
Nehemiah restored the walls of Jerusalem by the good grace and steadfast love of God. God did not give up on the people, even when they were unfaithful. The city of Jerusalem was restored... the walls were rebuilt.
Our lives are sustained and sometimes restored with the same good grace and steadfast love of God. God does not give up on us, even when we have been unfaithful. We look around sometimes and wonder how things have gotten so broken? All is lost it seems. Yet, God is still present ready and willing to restore us to faith, to life, to hope again.
The future is secure because of Almighty God, the one who restores us to life. "The God of heaven is the one who will give us success, and we his servants are going to start building."
