How Will We Wait?

A reading for Monday, December 7, 2015: Psalm 27.

Perhaps one of the greatest questions of our age is what does it mean to "...wait for the Lord?" How are we to wait? There are many in the world that would seek to do harm to others. What shall we do with such threats of violence and terror?

How do we wait for the Lord to deliver us? With anxiety, hand wringing, and even fear? Or would Psalm 27 ask us to wait differently, with confidence in our God to deliver us? God is stronger than any of those that kill. For even when the powers and authorities of the age killed Jesus, God was stronger still and Jesus lives even now. How will we wait?

"I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!"
