No Way We Could Serve
A reading for Monday, November 2, 2015: 1 Peter 4:8-11.
There is no way we could serve if we didn't believe in God.
If we believed our strength was solely dependent on our muscles, how could we offer the work of our hands?
If we believed our mind was only as good as our logic and our wisdom, how could we counsel a friend to make the right decision?
If we believed our soul was dependent merely on our ability to be righteous, how could we be an effective witness for faith in others?
If our heart was the only heart of the gospel, then why would Jesus Christ of Nazareth have given his own heart?
The gifts of God for the people of God are what empowers and sends us to serve.
May your Spirit continue to work in me Lord so that I might serve...
