Beyond Our Vision
A reading for Tuesday, September 15, 2015: Matthew 4:12-17.
It's good to remember that we never know just exactly what God is doing... sometimes what some mean for harm, God can use for good.
It was no blessing that John was arrested. Ultimately this would mark the beginning of the tragic end for John. Yet, this was the moment according to scripture that Jesus decided to move from Nazareth to Capernaum, and this move would fulfill what had been predicted by the prophets about the coming Messiah. Something new was happening. "The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and for those who sat in the region and shadow of death light has dawned."
It is the same for us. Sometimes we can't see how something tragic or sad can turn into something good. It's beyond our vision. Yet, with God all things are possible. God can turn even the broken and the lost into hope and peace. Even death can be renewed and made into life. It is too wonderful for our eyes...
