You Have Come to Your People and Set Them Free
A reading for Monday, April 13, 2015: John 17:1-11.
"And now I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world..."
It's simple really. We are the Body of Christ, the hands and the feet of the Lord, who continue to dwell among our neighbors and friends, our neighborhood and our city, our nation and our planet. If we hope to see peace and joy in the world through the power of Jesus Christ, then we pray and serve with the same freedom given us by God as was given to him.
Christian freedom isn't from something, it's for something. We are free to do as Jesus would do... because we are the Body of Christ set free amidst the world around us.
And just like Jesus, we go under the banner and the protection of Almighty God. "Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are one."
So that all might be one!
