A reading for Friday, April 17, 2015: Luke 3:15-22.
We... Us... Our... All...
Community... People... Church... Assembly...
"When ALL the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized..."
Our culture puts so much emphasis on the individual experience, that it's easy to miss that even Jesus' baptism was done in the midst of "ALL the people." No one person can believe enough, or be faithful enough, or understand enough, or know enough, or even resist temptation enough. Not even Jesus? But when the community is gathered together, and ALL the people are together, then there is probably someone who can do what we cannot.
This is the reason for ALL...
We are the Body of Christ, ALL of us!
