Do Not Sin Again

A reading for Tuesday, December 30, 2014: John 7:53-8:11.

God's work against sin is not a test or a tool to be used by the righteous to hammer the unrighteous.

Sin is a burden and a struggle of tears. Those caught up in it are in danger of losing hope or worse... They are not to be used by anyone to make a point or to manipulate people into committing to faith.

Rather, the faithful are called to partner with God against the world's desire to desecrate the goodness God has provided and release the captives from the bondage of sin. We have the power to share the mercy of God with all the oppressed and to welcome them home to the life of grace God offers.

Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go your way, and from now on do not sin again.”
