Why Not?
A reading for Friday, September 19, 2014: John 12:36-43.
What is it that keeps us from believing?
Is it Jesus hiding from us too, just as he hid in today's text from chapter 12 of John?
Is it to fulfill the words of prophecy, like Isaiah, in order to fulfill a larger purpose?
Or finally...
Is it that we too (like the authorities) love human glory more than the glory that comes from God?
These are the questions from our lesson today.
