Right In Front of Your Eyes
A reading for Friday, September 5, 2014: John 9:18-41.
Sometimes a blessing is right in front of our eyes and yet we can't see it because we aren't looking. Or perhaps it doesn't look like we expected and we can't see it. We miss it!
It's no accident that the blind man is the one to receive the blessing in today's lesson. The Pharisees aren't able to see Jesus as the blessing from God they have been waiting for, but a blind man can. It's not what they expect. Those in power often aren't looking for a deliverer. The blessing is right there in Jesus but they can't see it...
