Good Work
A reading for Tuesday, August 19, 2014: John 5:30-47.
Jesus said to the crowd, "The works that the Father has given me to complete, the very works that I am doing, testify on my behalf that the Father has sent me."
Our God is still a living God who continues the work to create, redeem, sustain, govern and transform all things and all people.
In John's gospel Jesus tells us that the work of God is his work, and thus because Jesus is our Lord, the work of Jesus is ours as well. The work we do is not our own, but in fact testifies to the one who has sent us.
Your work is your testimony.
What will be your work today?
And more importantly perhaps, will others know the works of the Father by your work?
