Bless the Lord
A reading for Tuesday, June 17, 2014: Matthew 17:22-27.
Bless the Lord.
The Lord's name be praised.
For the power of Jesus, who endures betrayal and suffering for our sake and the sake of all of creation. Even when others are distressed at cruelty and hate, Jesus is faithful.
Bless the Lord.
The Lord's name be praised.
For the wisdom of Jesus, who teaches us to be free in the midst of the many things that would oppress us. Even when others are in bondage to tyranny, Jesus is faithful.
Bless the Lord.
The Lord's name be praised.
For the abundance of Jesus, who provides for our every need so that we do no suffer. When others make demands upon us that we cannot fulfill, Jesus carries our burdens. Even when others take what belongs only to God, Jesus is faithful.
Bless the Lord.
