Why?
A reading for Friday, April 18, 2014: John 13:36-38.
Good Friday
If we could remain faithful ourselves, then why would we need Jesus?
If we had the power to overcome sin and death on our own, then why would Jesus need to die?
If we already knew how to grieve over the pain and suffering of the world, while at the very same time know God as creator and source of all the goodness given to us, then what purpose would the cross serve?
Thank you Jesus for going where I could not go, and for doing what I cannot do.
You are the Lord of my life...
